Happy New. Year! It looks like a cool plane to me. Sorta like a Midwest Hotts with cheeks. If your friend is offering it to you for free? And you don't have anything on your building bench.....go for it!

So it looks like all the wood is there, and the cowl and canopy are in good shape. But I'm missing the plans and instruction manual. Dang it!! This will be a real challenge without documentation.

Dang it,is right. Googled " xl-2 excelerator " and up pops the pictures you posted here and on RCG. Nothing on LairdAir either. Could be a new experience to build. Like JENGA...stack it in a pile and remove the pieces that don't look like the picture. Keep asking..someone must have built one before and has plans leftover. Sorry I could.d be of more help.

I sure hope so, cos otherwise it's gonna be a mess!

I did find the person who owned "Laird Air" on Facebook of all places, and have reached out to him in hopes that he will help me. We'll see / fingers crossed!
