Default Sticky Hinges

I mistakenly oiled some dubro hing points on my plane to keep the epoxy from sticking to them.
Now, the hinges stick and the surface doesn't return to center.
Any way to clean the oil off and stop the sticking?

I didn't know DuBro made hinge points. I know DuBro makes hinges and Robart makes hinge points. When this has happened to me when using DuBro hinges, I've taken an Exacto #11 and carefully scrape away any glue that might be causing the problem. Where there should be gaps, cut through and scrape the offending adhesive. Both sides, going back and forth, exercising the hinge as you go. Oil on the hinge alone should not be making them stick. If it is, what did you use for oil, J.B. Weld?

You're right, they are Robart hinges.
Other people have told me the same thing, don't oil Robart hinges.
The oil makes the plastic sticky, I used Marvel Mystery oil, which doesn't get sticky or thick like some oils do.
Maybe I'll try washing them with alcohol to remove the oil, although, I think the damage is already done?

I doubt oil is the problem if they are sticking, unless MMO reacts with the Robart plastic. You could test that on a spare hinge. Alcohol should clean excess oil off. Worst case scenario, you might try the Exacto method I mentioned earlier.

I have oiled every plastic hinge I have ever installed and it didn't make them stick?? First time I have heard this. I have had Gorilla glue or epoxy get inside the hinge and tighten them up. A bit of acetone and flexing with maybe a bit of #11 work cured the problem.
