Default Cutting hole in firewall for carburetor?

I'm building a Citabria Pro kit from Balsa USA and I already bought a DLE 20cc RA engine. I did not look closely enough at the specs when I ordered the engine and I have already started the fuselage with the firewall installed. I measured the engine when I got it and it looks like I do not have enough room between the firewall and the carburetor. I'm about a little less then a 1/4 inch short. I read a thread about someone building the same plane with the same engine and they were moving the fire wall back. Its too late for me to do that. Would it make sense to cut the fire wall to allow for the carburetor and if I do should I somehow reinforce the firewall?

for less than a quarter inch can you stand to let the prop stick out that much more from the cowl? Or maybe just move the cowl forward?

A lot of people intentionally put the carb intake thru the firewall. that allows the airflow to be constant into the carb without airflow from forward flight messing up the way the gas is pulled down the throat of the carb.

Thanks for the advice. That's a big relief because I am really looking forward to using this engine. I had already taken in account moving the cowl forward in the 1/4 inch I needed. Making a cut out just behind the carburetor is all I need.
