Hello; I am starting to build the Great Planes T-Craft and was going to put a Magnum XL .30 four stroke in it , but I have read in a few places that a .30 four stroke is a little under powered for this plane. Some say that this plane comes out a little heavy. I was wondering what you guys (and gals) think about this? Would I be better off with say a OS .25 FP two stroke in it? I have one in a Great Planes .20 size Cub and it seems to fly it OK. I would appreciate any comments you have about this. Thanks for your time. George.

I built the 20 size cub with an OS 25fp with pitts muffler. Flies well even with floats with this engine, so I'm thinking the 30 four stroke which can swing a bigger prop should be a good match for the T Craft. It would sound nicer with the 4 stroke also.

Do you think the OS .30 4 stroke is big enough? I have one of those in my engine cabinet too.

Jeff, I'd say go for it. If you have the engine already, why not try it. Should fly it nicely. The "cub" type planes should fly like cub type planes. The box says recomended 4 stroke is a 26. Hmmmm, That 30 sounds like more than enough.
