Wing is mounted and now I can glass the center. Tips are semi shaped and all measurements come out good and straight. Kinda fun……….

Center section is glassed and built up area underneath the wing is complete, tasks like this take as much time as building a wing and aren’t real glamorous. What is glamorous is all up weight under 4.5 pounds with all construction completed. I will most likely fall under 6 pounds flying weight. It is almost time to get the covering scheme figured out…….I think my vertical performance will be pretty good............

Here is a little color on the bottom, if you can’t see it, you won’t have it for long. I have 3 other colors that will look fine with the black and white. If you follow my stuff you already know it’s going to be bright………..😎

while covering is probably the most tedious part of building a plane, it can certainly be the most rewarding...
then again, I have manged to make a couple nice airplanes ugly in that last stage.... covering..

Your "HAMMER" is coming along "NICE"
It's come along very quickly.
That is something else I have never been able to do - get them done in a reasonable amount of time.

I would have probably had it done except we got a couple snow storms and I'm the snow removal guy.
This one is going to come down to the final pieces of eye twist covering, pin stripes, and graphics.
I think I can make it look ok, I actually let someone else pick the colors on this one..............................

I'm thinking you are accomplishing the "VISUAL - be able to SEE IT fast and far" criteria

Here’s what I think I might do………
I think it could work.
The purple is just setting there for now, gotta get some black pinstripes going first

I see you are an early bird also...
Dang, I just looked, at 1st post... You'll have this thing from box to runway in a month..

I got to tell you - seeing you build this thing as well as the others has me motivated to get this plane I have been tinkering with done. I really want to get covering.. but there are still several little issues to fix before I can cover. I did get the wing measured out and adjusted.. Now I have to glue on the permanent wing saddle shim.

Ok I went with it, once I add some graphics this thing will come alive. Probably not the best colors but the little gal that picked them is a good kid and I think she did just fine………..

Well the engine and pipe are mounted, tail weight added (2oz) and it feels pretty light. I’m right at 5.5 pounds with 3 servos, switch, and battery to go. Should come in right at 6 pounds, a little more than I wanted but still pretty decent. Prop is an 11-9 and depending on rpm’s I can get, speed will be between 129 and 145 mph. Hard to say for sure, but maintaining 125 should be no problem and that was my goal………. Graphics next……

Getting closer……………, hopefully no one is bothered by an American flag.
Hat tip to Rick M. From Hobby Haven for his assistance and friendship making the lettering. I’ll do a few decals and start the radio installation.

Here is the plane pretty much done, also “Dez” the little gal that picked the colors got to see it for the first time today and she likes it. So feel free to let her know if you like it or hate it……….

Total time from opening the box to now is 17 days, I'll wrap up now with final balancing and radio installation........
Thanks for checking it out!
Dave

Great Job Dez,

Now, are you going to get some stick time too? If not on this one maybe something a little slower.
Heck, maybe you are already an experienced RC pilot and can put this speedster through it's paces?

She says Thanks Rick!
She has never ever held one before today.....
I'm not handing her a radio...................She has never even seen one fly.

Took the Dez-Mobile outside to see if the natural light helps the colors. Seems like the lighting makes it look different. I’ll be able to see this thing just fine at 125 mph and for me, that is what it’s all about…………😉
