Can a fly baby biplane be built as just a low wing?

You would probably want to add a bay or two? each side.., and the balance point would need changed ..or were the wings stacked straight up on this? A old timer in the club when I first started flying had built a 1/3 Fly Baby. and added a second wing to make a bipe. I do recall he had NOT narrowed his wings so he had extra wing area even compared to a bipe kit. It flew very very well.

So I think you could make it work with a wider wing.
