Hello,
I just purchased a used kit built somethin extra and it seems heavy. It weighs 5.9 pounds - flight ready without fuel. There is no lead. It has a Saito 72. The rudder has been extended 1 inch. Is this a problem?

Hi,
I just completed a Sig SE. I'm using a TT pro .46 and she weighs in just about 5.5 lbs. The TT seems to pull it around just fine. I think you will have more than enough power with that Saito 72. Do you have taller gear to swing the larger prop that that 4 stroke needs? The stock gear is set pretty low to the ground. I use an 11.5 X 4 prop and it like to trim the grass at the field pretty good.
Good luck, and have fun. The plane for me is a total blast to fly.

I have been noticing a guy selling carbon fiber landing gear for the Somthin Extra on ebay, It is taller and wider than stock gear and only about 20.00 I would like to see someone give it a try
