yOU'RE GONNA LOVE IT!!
The 4 star series of kits is a gfreat place to start, and is not overly complicated. Chances are, you'll finish the plane, sit back and say "That was it?!"

Everyone says "Read the Instructions", but I'll take that one step further...
UNDERSTAND the instruction before you attempt it!
And read two or three ahead so you know where you're going next.
I generally read the entire booklet two or three times before I ever put glue or knife to wood

All good advice guys.. Thanks!!! Yes Mike, I agree... Read over the manual several times.. Even at that, I'm finding I get a bit confused... RH wing took 3+ hours... Went to remove it from the plans, it was glued down!!! Thought CA didn't stick to wax paper... Sticks pretty @#$% well if you ask me!!! LH wing goin' better... So far so good... Cold & windy here today.. Good day to build.. Finished my "chores.. Back at it...

A highlighter in hand for the first read through is a good idea--especially for those ducky instructions which come later and caution you to have done a step before reaching the current stage of the construction in the directions! You're going to be prouder of this model than any other one you own--because you will be a modeler in addition to being an rc flier. You've made a fine first choice. Good luck, Dzl

a68fan,
congrats on your first kit.
yes, CA definately sticks to wax paper. head down to lowe's (home depot or even wal-mart) and pick up 4 mil plastic sheeting. usually found near painting supplys. better than wax paper and CA won't stick to it. even a small roll is enough to last your for several kits.
good luck and let us know how she flies when you finish her.

Dzlstunter, you're about 24 hrs. too late.. Bought left off one side of the trailing edge... Them buggers 'il sneak up on ya' if you're not careful!!
Way ahead of you RCken.. Ditched the wax paper.. The plastic works better...
Both wings built... Yes, one right- one left... Straight, square, no twists...
Now.. How do you get CA & wax paper "covering" off the spars???

I have applied 2 coats of sanding sealer to my wing halves and am ready to start sanding smooth. How much do I sand?? My spars stick up a littlt past my ribs. Do I want to sand these even/ level, or just smooth out the roughness of the wood overall?? As this is my first kit, I'm not real sure what I'm lookin' for to acheive my "ready to cover" wing halves??
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
