Default Proctor E111 dowel replacement

Hi,

My Proctor E111 arrived this morning, all seemed in order, but on inspection,i found the lower front longeron has a split, and requires replacing, not prepared to send for a spare or two!!as in uk,i will be attempt to have ago at inducing bend into some 5/16 dowel, but would like to know what is the best and simplest way of going about it,my first option is to steam it in,but are there any other methods? that might help.

Your ideas/methods please

Many thanks

Eindecker

Proctor is a top notch outfit. Call them, or email them, and let them know you have a problem. I am certain they will have a replacement part in the mail post haste at no cost to you. They did it for me.

Glad you had as good an experience with them as I did. I am sold on these guys' kits and have my eye on the Curtis Jenny as one of my next projects.
