I'm to the point of covering my 4* 60 but I only tack glued my fire wall in because I'm not sure of what size motor to buy need to know because I'm getting the motor for Xmas, I have a os 40 on my trainer and really like it , so Planning on staying with the os 's stuck between a 61fx or a 91fx which would be the best choice? with this plane I'm planning on learning more with it as far as stunts thanks for any replies

OK, it's late on the night shift here, so bear with me.

First you gotta git yurself abouta 100cc flat twin. The new BME or ZDZ oughta do it. Slap that puppy on there with some thin CA. Ya may need to trim the cowl a bit to make'er fit. Well, maybe just chuck the cowl. Ya may need ta hang on ta that wing a little better, so wrap a bitta balin' twine around'er ta hold'er on.
Next, git yerself a bigger prop. 26x10 oughta do. Well, now ya need some bigger wheels. 8"'ers'll fit just fine.
Now, use some duck tape to strap on a 3 lb dumbell to the tail to balance'er out.
If yer worried 'bout that ingine stayin' on? Just use summathat left over balin' twine to re-inforse. Slap on a bitta poxy too fer good measure.
Now yer ready fer some purtty good 4D!!!! Yup, I sedd 4D. With this lil' puppy, ya oughta be able ta put ol' Alberts' theory to the test!!!

P.S. Just funnin' a bit madman. I think if you want a nice flyer the 60 is good. For a bit of aerobatics, the 90 will really put on a good show. Just depends on what ya want.

If I were you, I would stay away from the FX engines. They have been a huge problem for many people. OS is starting to put out a few other models, but I haven't seen much on them yet. I have been running other brands since my fiasco with the 91 FX and the Irvine engines run as good and produce as much power. They are really impressive.

I hate to steer you away from OS because I have always liked them, but the FX series is a really huge pain in the butt and almost everyone I have ever talked to that has had one has pitched it or sold it really cheap to get something else. If you go with that engine, go to the engines forum and read everything you can on it and make sure you break it in propperly, soft mount it, and get rid of the baffle in the exhaust. I am hearing that those mods will help make it run. I tried everything but the baffle because I never heard that mod before I gave up on mine.

Good luck in what ever you choose. The 4* is a pretty good plane.

Once I get up to 60 size, I prefer to switch to 4-strokes (Better fuel economy, It'll pay for itself in a year) Think about a 90 -100 size 4-stroke.

Woah there hoss! I have a bunch of FX engines and every one of them is a jewel. Easy to start, hardly ever a flame-out, last forever, good power and dependable. I love them and very highly recommend them. I've never had the .91 though, so maybe it's that particular model?? What problems have you had?

CM:

The current problem is the 91FX. Search the site. The 46FX had its liner peeling problem, but that's pretty much cured now.

Bit I too, am off OS. For me it's Magnum, now.

Bill.

PS: Talking 2c engines, four strokers are all Saito here. wr.
