I'm currently building my first kit (a CGM Super Chipmunk), and it comes with these nylon-like thin hinges that they call "JET hinges". I'm a little worried about them, as they don't seem very durable. Should I look for something else, and if so... what?

Thanks a lot.

You an go ahead with the dubro nylon hinges. They are very much reliable and durable.

I would also recommend getting some better hinges for the plane. Something with a hing pin or the CA hinges rom Great Planes work well. Good Luck, Dave

I have used SIG Easy Hinges almost exclusivly in the past. They work just fine for me. I would say the ones in your kit should be fine. If you are worried about them try this. Where the hinges are drill a small hole through the hinge on both sides. Use some wood glue and put a round tooth pick in the hole. Break the picks off and sand flush. That will pin the hinge in permanently. good luck.
