I prefer different stuff as well. I searched high and dry for a Clancy Stagger Bee with wingerons. I finally got the plans. Scratch building isn't as hard as it seems.

You really have to find a type of plane that catches your eye. Try and get your hands on some old magazines from swap meets and you might get some different ideas of what is out there. There are lots of different ideas for planes to build, depends if you want lazer cut, or just want some plans. Find it, search for it and you may just get lucky. The variety is almost endless, even for us builders
