Gentlemen

Does anyone know of if a Tucano kit is currently produced with a wingspan of around 60 inches or so for .50 ish 2-strokes?
I know that Seagull do an ARTF PC-9 which is very similar but I want to build from a kit instead.

Any info appreciated...

Many thanks for your help. Unfotrunately one is an electric which I know about and the other is an ARC. It looks as if a full- build kit is not available for my requirements. I guess that the ARTF industry is fast taking over.[]

That is why I'm going to buy a new bandsaw and a small hobby table saw. I'll build from plans. I like building too much to give up.

Sounds like good advice!

I used to scratch build from plans some years ago but have of recent times been bitten by the ARTF bug. Now, having just finished the now discontinued Balscraft Extreme 3D this has rekindled my pleasure of kit building once more.
I can't help but feel that the 'wheel will utimately go full circle' and kits will dominate the market once more in the future.

I'm not pure! I have two ARF's and they are well built. It is just that I enjoy building. In another post I just found out that BTE's Venture 60 will have one more run of 100 planes and basically from then on it will be ARF's. Just got Tower's sales flyer in today. 3 New ARF's A Foker D-VIIelectric, Sun Dancer 72" Bi Plane, 3D Mayhem 72" and none of these are offer as a kit. Really burns my B***.

I suggest that you look in on a UK forum that currently has several of the Skyshark cnc kits being built online. ie, Dauntless, JU-87 Stuka, Focke Wolf 109 AB, Skyraider, Aichi (Val). with others on the way soon! They are excellent kits if you're into warbirds.[8D]

I've been following the progress of the Skyshark kits on the UK forum. Isn't the Internet marvelous? So are the Skyshark kits. Great laser cutting. I'm just not ready to get into warbirds yet . I think they look silly without retracts. I fly off from grass so retracts take a beating.

I really would like to see more kits being produced, kits like the Tucano. It is a great looking airplane. But more people are buying ARF's with economics and time being the driving force. I can buy a World Models Chipmunk cheaper than I can build the Carl Goldberg kit, and from everything I've heard bout the plane, it is a very fine model.

So my plan to build more planes from plans. I do have an advantage in that I can copy prints at work. I then use contact cement to glue the cut up prints to the parts. It is a little less work.

Oh well if it's a Tucano you're after how about my one?

1/7th scale, 65 inch span, working flaps of course, SC120 up front. This is my glass covered balsa one with a foam wing, but I'm just putting the finishing touches to an epoxy fus version with built up wing and retracts that should fly with a Laser 80 in. Should be ready for a test flight in about two weeks but it'll look the same. This RAF training color scheme is the mutts don't you think?

And I might be prepared to put a kit together. Epoxy fus and laser cut ribs etc, though not sure if there's much of a demand for it.

Thanks for your kind comments And she flies nice too. Test flown by a full size Tucano instructor and he reckons she handles just like the "real thing"

I have a Brazilian Tucano in that size, but it's an ARF of sorts. Has a fiberglass fuse and covered foam wings. All graphics are applied when you get it.

I haven't touched it yet, and not sure i ever will.
