From: My place, MI,
Good day.
I want to thank RCU for the great input from all the members on the construction of this kit.
With consideration of all the forums read, the kit had these changes.
Pull pull rudder, foam tires, mini servo on the throttle, dedicated servo ailerons, and a well used ST .60 for power.
Weight came out at 5 lbs. and the CG was right on! This was checked 12 times before I believed it.
I waited for my dad to see the maiden flight and of course there was a 12 mph wind by the time he got there. No complaints, it flew real stable and pretty. It would really rocket by you at full throttle and settle down nice for some real slow flybye's. With the elevator at suggested setting's the "cap snap" was minimal if not there at all.
Hopefully get some pics here.
All hail RCU, thanks again.

Thanks, Dad liked it. He may try to get into it.
I would almost recommend this for a second kit/plane if someone has a ton of time on a trainer.
My first try at pics, so bare with me.

I have given this kit the once over several times but keep holding back from purchasing it..... How is the wing sheeting? How difficult was the build? You say you have a 60 in it? You did a great job of building it. I was looking for a model for my OS61FX and thought about this kit. Just finished the CG EXtra and need another acrobat..... let me know how it has been flying.

Nice job, Spanky! I have this kit in my inventory and a slightly used K&B 61 Twist-On head for it. Ought to be good if I can do it as lightly as yours. I question the rudder servo in the tail, and will probably go with pull-pull as well.

Thanks,
Flew it again today. It is real stable. I have a model tech 300 .30 size and this cap flys so much slower
it's hard to figure out the landing. When they say "the bigger-the easier" they arent kidding.
Here is a shot of the pull pull set up. It probably isn't the best but it works. The steel rods that are recommended
were replaced with the golden rod through the fuse to save weight. There is a high torque servo on the rudder
but I don't think one is needed. This plane will climb out on a knife edge at 3/4 throttle, even with the
rudder rates recommended. This .60 ST is sure tired, a hot .46 would probably work well.
Nice plane. The build was easy, especially for a man of my caliber. It showed MANY things to aid in
building a plane that I've never known. Like the amonia and water for sheeting.

Good report, Spanky! I wish you would solder those two pushrods held together with the wheel collars though.....that is not one of Gt. Planes finest ideas!
