The best pictures are already in the instruction manual. You should read it all the way through (twice), study all the pictures, before even starting building. If you don't understand any process, Sig has a hotline and will be glad to walk you through it. (Look on the inside front cover under Customer Service) Don't jump around the steps, they are all numbered in proper assembly sequence. Don't glue anything until they tell you to do so.

Some have posted their assembly progress on the net, don't follow them as per sequence. If you are looking for "shortcuts", would advise you to just take things one step at a time toward completion. If there was an easier way, the factory would already advise you. Building is a learning by doing process.

I don't know of any sites that document the SE build. One option is to just ask questions on here. I'm building the first wing right now. Many others on this site have built this plane.

I wouldn't recommend the S/E as a first kit, but that is your choice. Sig makes great kits, and if you follow the manual, you will have your own "color process" as you build. As mentioned you can always ask for help here.

Good luck

Does it get any easier than the SE? It was my first and it went together super fast. I had always heard that it was among the easiest kits out there.

Although it took over 160 hours to build, the kit went together without any issues. This was my first kit in 18 years (and my how the kits have changed!) but I just followed the instructions and had no issues. The C/G was bang on and after 10+ flights, I have her dialed pretty well. After learning on the NextStar and solo'ing this summer, the Extra was my second plane choice and I am having a ball with it.
