I noticed that CarrellH was in the process of building an uproar 60. I was thinking about getting an uproar 40 size. I was curious if anyone had completed an Uproar kit and flown it. I just recently crashed a GP Dazzler. Looks like the Uproar is of a similar design. One thing I don't like about the Dazzler is the ultra-small radio compartment. Looks like the Uproar mounts the aileron and elevator servo near the tail? Looks like this would be an improvement over the Dazzler. Any advice would be appreciated!

There is a thread about the Uproar 40 as well. The person who posted it mentioned a few modifications (larger control surfaces, taller fuselage) for improved aerobatics and visibility. I'm planning to try some sort of canopy, or other fuselage mod, to give my 60 a taller profile when viewed from the side.

Built my Uproar 40 completely stock and powered it with an OS .32SX. Servos are HS 225's. Great flying plane but, built stock, will not knife edge. Elevator and Rudder servos are in the front of the fuse along with the radio gear. The thing will roll like an SOB if you crank up the throws. Will practically harrier land if set up with flaperons.
If you build one, mount the engine sideways. Plane will stay a LOT cleaner if you do. Check for lateral balance also. If I ever destroy this one I will build the next one with a bigger rudder and mount the engine sideways.

It's still one of my favorite planes to just have fun flying!

Thanks guys, from what I'm reading on this plane it seems like it's stable and rolls very quickly. They say it won't knife edge and it's hard to make it flat spin. With the crash of my Dazzler, which I didn't have long enough to try either of those maneuvers, I'm back to flying my H9 Ultrastick. I like this plane a lot, it's snappy on high rates. I can get a pretty good flat spin out of it, but I can't get an inverted flat spin of course. It'll knife edge for maybe two seconds.
I'm looking to build a kit for my next plane. I want a plane that would do anything! What would you guys recommend? A friend of mine suggested a GP Ultimate Bipe. He also suggested maybe a Modeltech Magic Extra. That one's an ARF. I'd rather build a kit this time. What do you guys think?

I built one stock too. Flew the wings off it. Great flying bird. The only problem I found with it is that it didn't land itself when the radio switch failed in the air. Well, it did, but it took two of us to pull the engine out of the ground. I had an OS 46 in it and it was a little rocket ship. Have another one, just haven't had time to build it.
Fun bird.

I have an Uproar 40 with an OS .40 FX.
We built it completly different from stock.. the fuselage has a turtle deck like the Dazzler but taller, the rudder is a lot bigger with a counter balance and the elevator is bigger.
It hovers pretty damn well and knife edge will come soon, just need to move the cg a little bit more towards the back.
