I'd never used thin CA until my recent journey into the park flyer world. Now I'm ready to tear my hair out. Just about every part has a little wax paper stuck to it. I can scrape the area with a single edge razor blade but it's a ton of extra work and parts are sometimes damaged. I've never had this trouble with medium or thick CA. Is it maybe the paper (Reynolds Cut-Rite) or just the nature of thin CA? I thought about using the Great Planes plan protector but no one local has it and from Tower the shipping is more than the item costs. Any other suggestions?

I thought I was the only guy that happened to! LOL
This last plane almost came off the boards pre-covered!
Sig says that if you spray the wax paper with accelerator first, the CA won't stick. I haven't tried it as I just read it after I finished the plane.
In lieu of that, I bought a bunch of exact micro-tips for the CA bottles, now much less comes out and less sticks.
But it still sticks.
Hopefully we can scare-up a CA/wax paper expert and put an end to this frustration!

The micro tips are great. Another option is to ditch the wax paper and use GP plans cover. It's the same as the backing for Monokote so if you save your backing, you can use that and save some money. It really works alot better than waxed paper. Untill I started using it, I too had a waxed covered part on a regular basis.

The Monokote backing works well.. Also, not to be critical, but don't use so much CA. If you are sticking to the paper, a lot of your glue is being wasted.

I mean good LUCK, not lock. I've had good LUCK with CA not sticking to Saran wrap. It will stick a little, but seems to peal off in one piece when you lift the plane off the building board.
It's terrible getting old.

You gave a good chuckle, P_N!
I like the saran wrap idea, though.
Another thing I just thought of was at work they have 36" clear Mylar sheets, maybe .020" thick for the bead blaster window. I may try one of those as even it it sticks, the Mylar won't become a part of the airplane.
Thanks for all the good ideas, guys!
