FlyerDave-- I see you are in Mt Olive. There is one built and RTF in the Antique Barn in Wilson (I used to own it-- Great flyer)-- Can probably be had for $700.

Kit, yes. Arf, no.

Excellent flying bipe, but NOT 3D. A lot of additional building information for this plane can be found in Harry Higleys' book called "Bipes". It's well worth the investment.

Are you sure? The MidWest web site still shows it.

If so, guess I better get one while The Empire still has a few. Tis is one of my long-range project plans.

I stopped at the LHS (first class shop) today to check price and availability and his on-line info from distrubutors listed the Super Stinker from Midwest as 'discontinued' and unavailable. However, Tower Hobbies' website says 'In Stock/Limited Quanity'.

Hmmm... okay, thanks. Guess I'd better order one too.

What engine will you be using?

A trusted friend flew one with a 1.20. Said it was one sweet flying bird. He may be sort of an old school flyer, you know, no 3D, just smooth and graceful with the basic aerobatics. I guess I fly that way to some extent. So, his suggestion is that a 1.50 is good. Midwest recommends 1.50 - 2.7 four stroke. Great Planes Super Skybolt's recommended 4 stroke is .91 - 1.20 with only 3" less wingspan than the Stinker. However, before I buy the powerplant I'll do a little more research. There's always Saito's 1.80.

Think about the Saito 1.80, or a Moki 1.8 to 2.1. You will definitely want the extra power to fly this bipe the way it should be flown.
