Hi All I'm building an old Sig Komander..For the CG it said 2" from LE at the wing tip..How do I go about entending that point to the whole wing, so I can balance it without calling for my wife..LOL I've built the Sig Kougar MKII and was told how to entend the lines, but that was awhile ago..
Thanks Dan

Measure the cord at the wing tip. Then divide 2" by that cord to get the %. Then multiple the cord at the center by that % to get the distance from the LE. For example:
Assume your wing has a tip cord of 5" and a root cord of 10". If the balance point is 2" from the LE at the tip it would be 2/5 or .4 = 40%. Multiply the root cord by 40%. 10 * .4 = 4". So the balance point would be 4" from the leading edge at the root.

Hi Thanks for the fast reply..Here's what I did.. I measured 2" from the LE at the wing tip, at both wing tips and just connected the line..The GC should be right on anyway along the line??
Thanks Dans
PS If I'm worng please let me know!!!

DBono99, that's the way I'd do it.
Actually some manufacturers give the CG at the fuselage and you have to extend it out to the wing tips.
Same basic principle though.
