Default Skybolt Tailwheel

I'm currently building a Super Skybolt. I don't like the stock tail wheel arrangement. I'm sure it works fine, but its just not to my liking. I've bought a Sullivan Tailwheel bracket and am looking for some ideas on how to reinforce the lower sheeting to accomodate the mounting bolts. I am thinking about simply replacing the the aft 4" of lower sheeting with some 1/8 ply. Any other ideas?

Spicy, I installed ply under the balsa. Leaving the balsa makes it easier to sand. I have the Sullivan on mine also.

Check out the Carl Goldberg one, it looks more scale.
