Has anyone heard of or seen a F4U Corsair kit by a company called GM Plastics? The airframe is ABS over a wood crutch and
formers with foam wings and built up tail feathers. It is 1/7 scale
and looks very good. I have the opportunity to get one but would
like some background on it's origins before I commit.

I have seen the kit. The kit goes back a few years. I think it was produced about 1985 or so. I remember reading a review on this kit from Model Airplane News, or perhaps Scale RC Modeler. I was thinking of getting a kit at the time, but it was kind of pricey. As I recall the review said it flew fine.
Hope this helps.

My brother's cousin has one he won in a raffle (lucky him!) which is still NIB. In my opinion, this is the only way to build a Corsair! Probably won't hold up too well to doofs or crashes, so keep that in mind when thinking of your purchase.
