Default RV-4 Tail Feathers

Just a quick question for someone who has completed the GP rv-4. Isaw in the instructions that you cover the vert & horiz. stab before installing. I was thinking of adding a little more meat to the lower portion of the vert stab, so it sits about 1/2 inch above the tail fairing, to give some extra strength, and a place for the epoxy to adhere to. I also want to install the stabilizers and cover them afterwards. My question is, would that be a waste of time, or a better idea. I saw that there would be some gaps all around the area, and that the covering would just loosely cover those holes. Do you think, I should follow along with the instructions, or finish my way?

Default RE: RV-4 Tail Feathers

I built mine as per the instructions and have had no trouble. The tail seams pretty strong to me, cant see any point in changing it.
