Default Sig Four Star 60 Servo Mounts

I am in the process of building my first kit (4* 60). The plans call for basswood servo mounts glued to the aileron hatch cover. I can't seem to get the basswood mounts securely glued to the covers. Anyone have any tips for this?

Thanks

you should use slow curing epoxy like 30 min. use the servo as the template and put some ptroleum jelly on it so it doesnt get glued to the surface. let it dry for an hour and then check to see if it set. here is my cropduster 4 star 60.

I used 3/4" square balsa and glued it with Med CA and then coated it with 5 minute epoxy. After it dried, I mounted the servo I took it back off and put thin CA in the screw holes on the balsa mounts. Works pretty good.

God Luck!

Swager,

Thanks for the great pics. Question...Are your balsa mounts flush with the bottom of the servo - do the mounts protrude a bit? The instructions call for a 1/32 gap (at least I think I am reading this right)

Once again - Thanks

P.S. - What engine do you have in yours?

One more thing - Did you use the bushings for the screw holes on the servo? When i put them on it is difficult to get a good fit between the servo and the mount.

There is no gap, it is flush against the ply. I am putting a TT Pro 46 in the 4 Star and a Super Tigre 61 in the Venture 60.

Yes I used the bushings with the screw and rubber gromet to mount the servo. I used the small philip head screws that came with the mounting hardware. I got plenty of 'grip"
