Scolpit, looks good. I like the way you blended the bottom color into the tail. I finished covering mine yesterday and started installing the gear. I just ordered the engine for it. The TH.46 I had set aside for it is now in one of my other planes because I couldn't get the one in it to run right. I've heard alot of good things about the Thunder Tiger Pro .46 BB, so that's what's going in it. I'll have it ready to fly soon, but I'm gonna wait until all the snow melts before I maiden it - if I can wait that long. I'm gonna borrow a real digital camera to take the finished photos of it. That way you guys can see my workmanship (or lack there of). [sm=wink.gif]

1 month and ten days. It's done. I still have to pull the engine back off to break it in. I like to do that on a bench rather than on the plane. I also have some red/white checkerbaord that I can put on it. I bought it with the intention of covering up seams in case they didn't come out well. Everthing turned out pretty well - at least for a first kit. I don't need to hide anything, so I have to find a place to put them. I photoshopped one idea (the last pic) and I'm going to try to photoshop checkerboards the way the ARF is. If it turns out well, I'll post that too. As soon as the weather cooperates, I'll post the flight results. Thanks to everyone for their help.

Maybe I'll do something like this. I will put a mirror image on the other wing as well. Any other suggestions as to how I can use this checkerboard is welcome.

It Flys! It Flys! It Flys! I had an interesting day. I've just gotten into slope flying. The winds were supposed to be favorable for the slope I fly off, so I loaded up the plane and headed out. I climbed all the way to the top of the slope (its quite a hike) and was very dissappointed to find no wind. This is the first time I actually cursed the weather for not providing wind and I realized that that was pretty silly. I went back home and decided to fly a powered plane. I got to looking at my small fleet and realized that none of my planes were ready to go. All were either not charged or in minor disrepair. All except the un-maidened Dazzler. There is a couple guys in the club that I promised that I would let them know when I planned on flying it. I decided that I would just take it out and do some taxi testing (I almost had myself believing that I had no intention of flying it
). I did do some taxiing with it. Almost a whole tank's worth. I then decided that this was the day to maiden it. Everything was working well, the engine was running great and there was almost no wind. I pointed the Dazzler down the runway and slowly applied throttle. I had only gotten to about half throttle and it jumped right off the runway! It kinda surprised me. I took it up a couple hundred feet and trimmed it out. It only took a couple of clicks of aileron. Man, what a feeling to get a box full of balsa sticks to fly and fly this well. I came in for my first landing and was kinda dissappointed as to how fast it landed. That was before I realized I was too nerved up and landed down-wind. After my hands quit shaking, I took it up again and did a few loops and rolls, I was very impressed. Then I landed - into the wind - and I was very pleased to see it slow down to a crawl before gently touching down. I could've flown this great plane for hours, but the sun was getting low in the sky which put it right in my eyes for landings. Thanks to everyone that gave me tips and advice. I have alot of pride in this thing.

Sounds to me like a lot of folks have had that problem and with gear ripping off. I am starting my build soon and am looking for mods etc. but have not found too much in these forums. Anyone out there got experience with the Dazzler?

Hey guys,
I just finished up my Dazzler. I modified the landing gear and will put some pictures later. The issue I have at hand is the noise heavy nature of this airplane. So far, I added 1.5oz of lead to the tail and still wants more. I do not like adding that much weight to the plane. I am putting an O.S.46FX on it.
Tell me, how much weight have you had to add?
I am thinking in adding a hatch in the back for the battery.
Thanks
Pedro
