I just picked this kit up from a swap meet -- brand new in box. Do I let it sit until I'm bored with nothing to do or should I drop every one of my other projects and eargerly unbox it and spend many sleepless days and nights working on it?

Any pointers, suggestions, tips, etc is appreciated.

Jim,

I have one Stinger 120 and have built them for others with various engines. Your question of "should I build" is a tough one since I don't know what kind of planes you like. The 120 is a great sport plane. If you build it without using the supplied ABS parts and change a few things, it can be made "less ugly".

The 160FX works great in this plane and you may get it to come in under 13lbs - for gas my favorite engine is the Quadra 400xl which weighs in at 15lbs. neither engine will give you unlimited vertical, but they are great sport performers and easy to land.

Default Hilleja -- Stinger 120

I am presently working on two of these 120. We are putting Ryobis on them for just puttsing around the sky. I am 62 the second one is for a friend who is 64 we are both tired of flying the hot dogs and enjoy the relaxization flying. I have had a Stinger 40 and a Stinger 60. The 60 Has been one of my favorite airplane to fly of the fast few years.

Just a note: I have been wanting to email you and let you know much I have enjoyed the comments you have put here on RCU You have been one of the more enjoyable people to read and I read everything you post.

Back to Stinger My 60 had a OS FX 91 for power and they were a perfect match. I may later my Saito 1.80 on my ST 120 at a later date.
I have a giant stinger and a G 62 waiting to get married and I bought another 60 to install the FX 91 on the front. Find you a fiberglass cowling for the 120 or change it a little to improve the looks. I was flying my 60, I looked away for a moment lost the plane in the air and it is no more. Another friend of mine bought the new 60 arf by Lanier and we are both impressed. I would have gone that way if had been available when I bought the last Kit.
Good Luck.
Lee
