I've started to build my TF DC-3 and I'm at the point where they tell you to make slots for hinges in the horizontal stab. I'm not sure if slotting now is such a good idea? I'm planning on using either Flight Metal or Aluminum tape for covering and I'm concerned that after the covering is applied I won't be able to find the slots. Should I wait until after I cover to cut hinge slots. Also TF suggests using the supplied CA hinges - what do you guys think of that?

the ca hinges should be fine, u can use robarts if u want but i dont think you will need them. As for when u do it, it doesnt really matteru can drill a small hole in the widdle of the slot to help find it better after u cover it just press the covering material down along the hinge line and u should see the inprint of the hinge hole, hope this helps.
