Default T-28 kit

Does anyone know of a high quality, laser cut T-28 kit from a reputable manufacturer?

Not that I've seen. The Pica's were based on the Dave Platt T-28. There now gone. I don't even know of plans that could be cut by one of the kit cutters. Byron had a pretty nice T-28 but that was glass fuse and foam wings. Now Iron bay has all there old line up but I hear that people are having problems with them. Good Luck-Mike

Well...I guess I'll scrap that idea. Iron bay does have a kit, but it is over $1000 dollars. I don't really have the money for that right now. Perhaps, I'll reapproach the idea in a year or two when college is in the bag.

Thanks.

Just about once a quarter I go on the web and suggest a T-28 kit on the Top Flite site and a T-28 ARF on the Great Planes site. A 1/6 or 1/5th scale T-28 would be a great seller because the airplane lends itself perfectly to model form. Tri-gear, lots of (scale) dihederal, Long tail moment etc. It was a trainer afterall! My old Pica T-28 had no bad habits and was around for over 15 years.

Yak

P.S. Maybe Skyshark will beat them to it again.

Yak18: Vance Mosher of Vanguard Plans offer a T-28 plans and/or kit. It's 1/5 scale and really, really nice. You can check out a build on RCScalebuilder forum under Designers, Vanguard Plans, My T-28 Build. Anyhow, check out Vance's website for more information. Also I think RCM Plans still offers Dave Platt's T-28 article and plan and perhaps you can have a kit cutter laser-cut the parts (or cut 'em out yourself). Hope this helps.

Soft landings.

It been a on again off again thing. The guy I picked it up from didn't do flaps or retracts. It looked like a major hack job on the gear so I passed on that part. Then that bid canopy is crying out for some detail. I got side tracked with other projects (damm helicopters) and will glass it this winter if nothing else gets in the way.

Heres a build tread on Vance's T-28. Very nice. All of his stuff is built to fly.
