Fieseler Storch, Fi-156 Svensson Kit
Hi everyone,
I am the proud owner of a Fieseler Storch, Fi-156 (Svensson Kit) which has been started centuries ago by someone else, and which must now be restored and finished.
How the hell can you insert a picture here ?????????????????
I hope that the kit is complete, but I can not be sure because the Svensson plan has been the favourite diner of several generations of Mouses.
Can anyone help ? I am looking at the copys of the Plans, or even a complete or partial kit, or to anyone having experience of the kit, ... or Flying the beast ????
Thanks in advance,
Richard (Belgium)

RE: Fieseler Storch, Fi-156 Svensson Kit
I will be interested in replies to this.
I bought an untouched Svensson kit, then before I started it, I came acress a s/h airframe.
I felt that it was heavy (12lbs plus) and underpowered with a ancient 90 4 cycle (a UK Magnum with exposed rockers) so I installed a SC90 2 cycle. This proved difficult to start in the inverted position so I took the plunge, cut up the cowl area, and installed it on its side.
I doesnt look as bad as i feared and I am waiting for some goosd weather to fly it. Here in the UK, we have the first covering of snow this winter,
If it goes welL i will probably build the kit with an OS120 Surpass. My lesons so far are keep the fuse light, especially at the tail end.
Best of luck
David

RE: Fieseler Storch, Fi-156 Svensson Kit
Hi
I have a very old Fieseler Storch kit (Svenson F1-156). It came via the father of a neighbour who died before he got round to building it. The kit is complete EXCEPT for instructions, though it has plans. Does anyone have a set of step by step instructions I could get a copy of??
Desperate.
I'm Mike, from Sandbach in Cheshire, England

For your info, there is currently a Svenson Storch on sale on Ebay. It is in flying condition, and scores 500€
No more infos
For you info, I have found a second one, also in flying conditions, but still no documentation.

RE: Fieseler Storch, Fi-156 Svensson Kit
HI! This is my first post on rcu, so I may not be asking the right questions. here goes. I also have a Svensson storch kit that I bought several years ago but didn"t have the skill or experience to build it. I'm not sure if instructions came with the kit or not, but the kit is complete (all sub-assemblies are still unopened and in their original bags) I'd really like to have the plane built by an experienced builder who would actually enjoy doing it(for a good price) but so far I haven't been able to find anyone locally who was enthusiastic about taking it on. I have several good pictures (walk-arounds) of the real plane, as well as a book on the plane. Would a RCV-90 be a good engine choice? (I really don't want the cowl cut up) I like the idea of a four-stroke engine for realistic sound, but electric would be an option if cutting the cowl was unavoidable. I may entertain the option of selling the kit if I can't find some help in getting it built, but I'd prefer to keep it, as it's one of my favorite designs. Does anyone happen to have a picture of the storch used to rescue mussolini in WWII or know what markings were on the plane? (color scheme, etc.) Any help would be great! Thanks, Blair

RE: Fieseler Storch, Fi-156 Svensson Kit
Hi Blair, The Storch used to rescue Mussolini on Sept 12 1943 was an Fi-156C-3. The radio code on the side of the fuse is SU+LL. It was camoflaged in standard fashion using the RLM colors 70 Black Green(overall), and 71 Dark Green over 65 Light Blue. Instead of the usual white fuse markings of the Med Theater it had a small rectangular white marking under the S(right side) L(left side) of the radio code. Squadron publications Storch in action has a fairly good picture on the back cover of the aircraft. Let me know what you decide on the kit, as I would like to purchase it if you are so inclined. Ben

Ben, Thanks for the info. Any idea where I can get a copy ot the book? I still haven't decided on the fate of the kit. (I'd still like to get it built) I'll post it here if I decide to sell it. Thanks again, Blair.

deetoys,
I will pay you for a copy of the instructions for the Storch. That kit with instructions should bring between $400,00 and $600.00 (especially with the instructions) so don't let it go cheap. All of the older kits bring high prices because no one is making quality kits anymore. Let me know if I can buy a cop of the instructions.
Thanks

Thar Aussie one looks great - much smarter than mine!

I'm not sure you got my last e-Mail. Just in case you didn't, what you propose is fine with me. I will need copies of everything you can send, especially pictures and plans. I will use Paypal to pay you if that's all right.
