I'm looking at a first kit, something fun and aerobatic. I was thinking aboutthe bridi series of planes. I have the wing from an older version of their line on my current aerobatic plane, and man it rolls like no tomorrow. So please make comments good and bad.

If you are looking for an easy kit to build and a total blast to fly my recommendation would have to be the Sig Somethin Extra. You can almost build it as fast as you can apply CA. It's a high quality kit that has outstanding instructions that are easy to understand. Very easy for a first kit. And it's a ton of fun to fly once it's built.
That's my .02 worth

Hi patterndreamer,
I have just started work on a "Dirty Birdy" from Bluejay Airplane Kits. This is a builders kit but the quality of the wood is superb. Just like I went to the Hobby Shop and selected the balsa myself. In all honesty I couldn't recommend this as a first kit..............but if you have someone who could explain things to you there is nothing difficult in the build. However it is likely a first time builder would become confused as many things are left unsaid or described.
Lynn Latta from Bluejay (www.bridiairplanes.com) was great to deal with and they split the kit into two boxes for cheaper transport to Australia.
If anyone is interrested I will post a few images and notes on the build.
Cheers,
Colin

Ok, first let me say that you don't seem to be familliar with the term "Builder's Kit" A novice kit builder should avoid "Builder's Kits" at all cost. They are for people who are VERY proficient at building.
Next, it would help if we knew some of your background. What do you fly now? What do you eventually want to fly?

well i have four planes flying one in box (Waiting to build first kit before this one though). What I'm flying is a trainer, p-51, an aerobatic plane, and a tiger moth. I want something i could try gas in. Somethin' Extra isn't what I'm looking for I've already got a .60 size plane like it.
