I've mounted by engine as you can see below but the problem i have run into now is that there isnt enough of the end sticking out of the cowl to put my prop on. I'm using an OS .46 and this is the first airplane I've actually had to do some assembling on, so any advice would be great.

I had a similar problem with the GP Ultimate Bipe that I'm building. You can cut a wood spacer out of plywood and mount it between your firewall and motor mount. Make sure you seal the wood with epoxy so that it is fuel proof. Take a look at the attached picture for a better idea of what I'm talking about.

Only problem with that, is that the spacer would be as thick and the propeller bolt is long...so like 1-3"s ??

Like I said, I haven't built that plane. If you are off 1/4"-1/2" you can make a spacer such as I showed in my picture. But to be off by 3", it sounds like something is screwy with the instructions. Go back over the instructions and make sure something hasn't been missed.

The instructions on this kit are absolutely horrid. All of the images look like they been photo copied 50 million times and there isn't any written instructions, just very uninformative diagrams that point to the pictures....that you can barely see. The airplane was a kit and just required some of my own work to complete it. So that doesnt really leave much room for where I could mess up. The only thing i can guess is causing this problem is that the directions don't show that the cowl has to be cut to make it shorter. But I dont see how they could leave something that important out of the directions. Though it could make sense, if they wanted to leave room for differant size engines. The cowl is a preconstructed fiber glass piece.

This is all very frustrating...think next time I get an airplane I won't order it online with out scoping the directions out at a hobby shop first.
