What has been the experience of people with these hinge points? Are they are good alternative to conventional hinges? Which brands are better or worse? Are "hinge pockets" necessary or desirable?
Robart makes several sizes of hinge points, but the dimensions aren't provided on the package. What are the intended uses for Robart part numbers 307, 308, 309, and 310?
Thanks for your help!

Personally, I feel the Robart hinge points are the best hinge out there. You need to put a small block of wood behind the wing trailing edge where you will place the hinge or your hinge will poke through into open air and your glue will run into the wing where it will do no good. The pockets are not necessary unless you plan on removing control surface. I've never seen a model where this is desirable so why add an extra piece of hardware you will more than likely never use?
I can't help you with the part numbers vs. size. I just go to the hobby shop and pick up whatever suits the need of my current project.
