1st edition Goldberg Sukhoi SU26MX Kit
Thinking about building the first edition Goldberg Sukhoi SU26 MX Kit. Can anyone give me any reason not to?
I know there are landing gear issues etc but are they serious?
Thanks in advance.
Looks I can save close to 100.00 dollars this route!

I also have one of these kits that will (hopefully) find its way onto the board later this year. I have been able to aquire the templates and prints from the later edition and plan to incorporate those changes into the old kit. If for no other reason than it is much easier to store and transport when the l/g is attached to the fuse than the wing. Aside fom that, I believe the revised gear mount is MUCH stronger than the wing mounted version. That's my $0.02

I had one of these planes. Must have done over 3000 touch and go's with it. And I had the gear fail twice with the original wing mounting. What it needed was twice the amount of plywood in half ribs that hold the landing gear plate.
Due to the high drag nature of the fuselage, you can really side slip it for landings, so it will drop altitude like a stone. It will also do fantastic takeoffs where you can roll up to a knife edge as soon as you break ground.
All around good flying airplane. Good luck.

I have built the old kit version and just relocated the landing gear to the fuse. It's pretty easy, just use your imagination,
good luck
