Default Goldberg TIGER 60

I recently purchased a Goldberg 60 kit in Hong Kong for US$ 60 - an amazing bargain. I intend to put a Saito 100 up front.
Do I need to use the supplied bass wood for the wing main spars. I am not sure it is necessary to use this rellatively heavy wood particularly as the wing has full depth webs.
Any other mods. recomended?

With that much power in the nose, you won't notice the difference. It's a very good plane out of the box - why take any unnecessary chances?

I have to agree. Just build it as per plans and with the supplied wood and you will have one of the best planes on the market ready to go. Good Luck, Dave

I would STRONGLY suggest that you stick with the hardwood spars!!!

Whatever you do at least use the spar wood that came in kit. I replaced mine with Spruce spar wood and was never sorry. Still goes to the moon with the Saito 4 stroke. I also used lite ply for the ribs that hold the landing gear blocks.
