Engine for Dynaflight Super Cub
I just picked up this kit and was going to use a Saito 150, which I have. This is the smallest 4-stroke engine rating for this plane. I am not interested in gas ; possibly a two stroke. I do prefer 4 strokes. Cost is a factor in my decision. Questions:
1. Is the Saito 180 that much more powerful than the 150?
2. Would a Magnum 160 twin be that much stronger than the Saito 150, if it is at all?
3. The Saito 220 looks good, but expensive. Same with OS 160 twin.
4. OS 160 Fx or BGX1-3500 are possible two strokes with a reasonable price.
I would appreciate hearing from those of you who have or had this plane and your engine suggestions.
Thanks,
Sam

RE: Engine for Dynaflight Super Cub
Use your Saito 150. It will be fine. Cubs do not require much power.
The Magnum and OS 160 twins do not have as much power as a Saito 150.
The Saito 180 will swing one prop size larger at the same rpm as a Saito 150.
A OS 160 Single has more power that a Saito 150 but you don't need the power.
A Mark 210 or Saito 220 would be too much.
Enjoy,
Jim
