The GP Ultra Sport PLUS is suposed to be 3D capable, I've never seen one in action, but maybe someone who has flown one could tell us a bit more ...

The something Extra is *NOT* a 3D plane - it's a sport/fun fly - it's too short coupled to do 3D very well.
It his a great flying airplane though - I was sad to see the one I built from a kit destroyed by the fellow I traded it to.

I guess that I had better not tell the guys who hover and do 3D with their Somethin Extra kits at my field what you just said. I haven't quite found the hover button yet on mine, but the Somethin Extras do most of the hovering work where I fly, short coupled or not. I happen to disagree with that opinion anyway. I think you missed my comment about them being fun to bash. You can do a lot with a SE that has elevator and rudder counterbalances. Some of us also replace the rounded top hatch with a flat one that runs from firewall to turtledeck. I did that to mine, and cut the canopy down to minimum size to aid knife edge flight. A SE with either a .46FX or .46NT and APC 12.25x3.75 will hover fine unless it is built badly and is way too heavy. You can also do most of the other stuff.
