I'm looking for anybody who has information or building tips for the C A models extra 300l 24%. I'm thinking of building one and installing an O.S. 1.60. The model is from a fellow club member so I don't even know who markets them.
Thanks for any help

Steve I got the plane all most ready to cover from a person here on RCU but it looks like a nice plane to build, although it is heaver than C A claims mine came in at 12lbs. I had to put the battery on the fire wall to get it to ballance on the wing tube. I covered it in Ultracoat and put an OS 1.60 on it with a bison pits muffler and a perry pump. I installed Hitech 645 servos on ruder and elevator and the ailerons have 635s with an hs81 mg on throttle. All I'm waiting for is the weather to break so I can break in the engine an fly it.

Ok flew the plane Thursday total weight is 11lbs.7oz. with the os 1.60 it has plenty of power, unlimited vertical plus. After reading all the posts I was afraid it would be a tough plane to land. Let me tell you it lands better than most of my planes. Yes it will never be a 3d plane but it a very clean flyer. I only got a couple flights on it not enough to trim it good and set up the radio but I can tell I'm going to like it.

I have 38 deg. throw on the rudder and on the second flight did a knife edge loop by accident I was not ready for that much control. On my 60 size 300 I need all the rudder I can get just to maintain knife edge, so when I went to knife edge i gave it full rudder and up it went. elevator authority is also strong but need more time for setup to see where it starts to go into a snap. I don't think any control surfaces need to be made larger unless you want to do 3D in that case you need to try and build as light as you can. But for basic I.M.A.C which is what I want this plane for its good.
