Default RV-4 Great Planes

I'm just finishing building the RV-4 and am in the process of engine installation. I noticed in several of the earlier posts re this plane OS FS 70's are being used. Was the engine mounted horrizontally or inverted. I'd like to mount mine horrizontally but the cowl doesn't seem quite wide enough for the circumference of the cylinder. I've ordered the glass cowl from Stan's and should get it in a week. Any suggestions are appreciated.

You will probably have to open up the cowl for head clearance. The .52 fits inside
