Yes actually, I'm using the same engine as I have on my trainer. Tower Hobbies .46 BB ABC. The one on my trainer has been a great engine, and it has plenty of power. Hopefully, the one I just recently ordered will also be great and have plenty of power.

That engine will be fine. You wont have unlimited vertical, but it will haul it around just fine. I was initially using a OS 46LA and it did fine, so your tower .46 will be good.

Good to know. I'm not terribly concerned about unlimited vertical, so that's fine with me. I want to do some aerobatics, not necessarily 3D flying.

I figured the TH .46 would be plenty of power since the one I have on my trainer is certainly a hot engine. That thing has some serious power for its engine class, in my opinion. Of course, I see all these threads about how terrible an engine the TH .46 BB ABC is, but I really have no idea what they're talking about. My first one is great, and I'm hoping the second one is the same.

I have the same issue with my Magnum 52. So many people say how bad of a motor it is, but I've got mine broken in well, tuned right and it SCREAMS. I was learning to hover (WAY too low to the groun) with my SE with the .52 on it and on the 5th flight with that motor I slammed it into the ground and broke the fuse in half. I wasn't too upset sine I had put over 70 flights on it with the 40LA.

On the subject of the TH .46 problems, I had some also. I finally figured out why. When mounting your engine, make sure the carb spray bar (the part that has the low-speed mxture screw in it) is on the same plane, or below the fuel feed tube where it exits the fuel tank. Mounting an engine sideways will take care of this.
Hope this helps,
Mark

That'll work out fine for me, as I intend to mount it sideways!

Have you noticed this is basically the kiswa & krossk thread?
Nope, we're ALL watching...

Have you started yet, or is it still in the "planning stages"? (<== Don't take this wrong, it's a good thing, and an important step in the build!!!)

I now have a build thread in the beginner's forum [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3274319/tm.htm]located here[/link] that you can track my build in.

So far, I am still finalizing supplies and preparing to build. I have read through the entire instruction book and plan to make a digital copy of the plans tomorrow before I begin working on the kit.

Good choice for a kit. It builds up easily and creates a very nice plane.

Thanks for all the comments. I now have only the soldering equipment to purchase. I'll be stopping by RadioShack on my way home from work and getting that, so I plan to start building this afternoon.

Right after I install the new nose wheel linkage in my trainer. I'm taking it to a Mall Show this weekend, so I need to get it in operating condition!

There was a SSE at our flying field recently first time for me to see one fly,now I know I want one for sure. What I wanted to know has anyone used a YS63 on this plane? If so how did this combo work out for ya?I'm interested in YS engines and wanted to give one a try.Thought this might be a good combo to start with.Any comments would be appreciated.
