I'm planning on mounting a Saito 180 on a Dave Patrick Ultimate and need suggestions on engine orientation and muffler selection. I'd like to minimize cutting the cowl as much as possible. Your recommendations?

If it was me I would invert it and use the stock muffler. You will have to cut a hole in the bottom which isn't too noticeable.

Thanks Spiccoli. I'll post pictures when I've got it done.

Default Flying Weight?

Just curious what your flying weight is on the ultimate. A guy in our club has one with a YS 140 and he came out at 17 lbs. That seems pretty heavy.

Thanks, Tim

The one DP Ultimate in our club weighs about 10 lbs and flies good with a OS120.I dont know what would make one weigh 17 lbs.

I haven't started assembly yet...just doing the research. I have everything just about ready to start.

17lbs sounds really heavy. I thought they were supposed to come out around 12lbs max.

17lbs?What's got for an engine a DA150? LOL.

Mine ways under 12lbs with a ys 140 or 120. I've flown it with both powerplants.
