Thanks Morgan for your info. I have a convertion engine I put in mine this week and was just wondering how your pulled. I think I will be alright. It's a Homy with an oversized carb and I also installed a two ring piston with Bowman rings. It pulled a 1/4 scale Dr-1 around very nice at half throttle. I like to scale fly myself.

Hi Guys
Hope the pics upload ok, first time doing it on RCU, I could not assemble the wings due to the contractors working on our addition, and I only have a few shots.

Question Guys
A flying buddy just purchased a 1/3 Scale short kit and now he has a wood material list to buy. Any suggestions who would have would carry the material he needs. Such as spruce Spars for the 2 6 Ft wings. I have no clue who he can order this from.
Thanks
Morgan

Try..........

and Lone Star is back in business:

You'll have to sort out price comparisons. The last couple of orders I placed was with National.

Rib cap strip spruce is of superior quality at Acft Spruce. Ply is also available there as well.

This is a deep in the heart project if i can find plans: http://www.airspacemag.com/history-o...nt=Restoration
I had Precision Cut Kits cut a kit from Jerry Wiess plans. The wing parts and spar parts were spot on. Perhaps they could cut just some wings for you.

Ray,
I have to say that the period of mid-1920's to mid 1930's has to be the glory years of aviation. So many designs that have substance and heart were produced at that time. Maybe it's because I'm older now, but almost every one of those aircraft gives me a warm feeling when I see them.
I noticed that the Zenith has about the same dimensions and weight as the Boeing 40 biplane. Both would be good subjects.

Yesterday I came across a three view and some interesting drawings on Ebay, which I ordered. I'll have to turn them into a set of plans.

Another source would be Pemberton & Sons which did the resto on the 40C.

RE: Concept Fleet Biplane
For Morganflyboy, I just remembered that the spruce and ply sizes for the wing spars are quite long on the 1/3rd scale and may need to be spliced to proper dimensions if you can't purchase at suitable length.
You can find my build here somewhere to explain. The top wing is longer than any 36 inch stock. Not pushing their service but PCK did a good job on the wing ribs and spars.
Lots of struts on that beauty.
