I haven't built mine yet so I may be talking out of my er...you know... but
Does the top need to be removeable? Can't all the innards be accessed when the wing is removed? I bought the glass accessories for the kit that replaces all the ABS and I was just going to glass the top on after installing the interior kit. It would not be removeable at all.
I know that doesn't answer your question, just wondering if that was doable.

Shogun,
You might want to try something that works well for electric flyers. Neodymium super magnets. You can pick up disc shaped ones at Radio Shack. Implant them on the mating surfaces of the fuse and hatch. Can't provide any pictures because I'm not at home, but I will testify that magnets will keep it in place.
