Default P-63 plans

OK folks, Anyone out there have the plans for Maxey Hester's P-63? I have seen the kit on E-bay, but would like to scratchbuild this one with retracts, etc. I have built the kit, and it flew very well with an old Fox 36. Let me know if a set could be copied with building inst. and we can set a price with shipping, etc. Thanks SB46.

scratchbuilder46,

I have two different sets of plans for Maxey Hesters p-63. One is for the Sterling Kit (which I have) the other is a set I picked up from "Uncle Willies" plans. The Wingspan on the Sterling Plans is like 69-70". The other plans are slightly smaller WS. 67-68".

How did you get that huge P-63 to fly on a Fox .35?

Gerry, I have no idea! I built the Sterling kit as it was in the box, covered it with olive drab coverite, put the Fox 36x in it and flew it until some power lines sucked it in. This was when we flew on AM and my first radio cost $400.00! I built another from plans put an old K&B .61 in it with retracts and it flew just great. I lost this on to a midair at the field. I will build another someday, but may change the servos and ailerons around and add flaps. I still have the plans and cannot believe the size of the servos this was designed around. Just for fun I also built the Sterling Spit and still have the plans for it.

AMA has the American Modeler plans that are the basis of the Sterling kit. You can find both there.

KINGCOBRA

MODELER 3/62,
HESTER
