Robart Retracts
Am getting ready to buy my retracts (618) but have a question on the air setup . . .
. . . . there are two air units available for my retracts. One is basic, and the other is more advanced. The advanced differs by having an "outboard pressure indicator." What the heck is that used for? Is the upgrade worth the extra $35?

Actually, you are getting more than just a pressure indicator, you are also getting the Quick Connectors. If you have retracts on the wings and plan to detach the wings for transport, you need the Quick Connectors. The pressure indicator is somewhat helpful. I would not rely on it for proper pressure checking. I always recharge the air before each flight regardless of what my on board pressure indicator says. The pressure indicator on your pump is more accurate. Go to Robart web site, they should have a picture of exactly what you are getting (www.robart.com). And the price difference is $22 not $35. you can get the Quick Connector for about $9 each. You need 1 per retract. The on board pressure indicator is about another $15. Man, these stuffs are too expensive!!!
