Default TF dc-3 weight issues

hello, I am building the tf dc-3 and am worried about the weight it is going to come in between 12 to 13 lbs which is considerably heavier than the recomended 8 to 10 lbs. I am using Saito .56 engines which is at the top end of the recomended range. Should I be concerned?? Thanks TJ

From the examples I've seen of the Topflight DC-3, it's overpowered (from a scale perspective) with the larger engines. Given the size of the wing and the airfoil, I don't think you'll have any trouble flying it at 13 pounds. The extra weight will just contribute to a higher stall speed, so don't let it get too slow on final.
