Well, I've decided to build this kit for my winter project, anyone with any experience or suggestions, your comments would be appreciated. Any building tips, and modifications? I'm going to be using a 35cc gasser, I'll wait to purchase until after holidays....Thanks WC

WC,
It is a fun build. Enjoy. Quite a bit of carving, etc., but it was rewarding in the end.
I have a Quarda 42 in mine, and it still needed nose weight to balance. Be careful with your building weight. The Quadra is mounted direct to the main firewall (no built-up engine mount that was provided in the kit). If it is a US35 you are considering, up-grade to the 41. No weight penalty and more power. My total all up weight came out at 17#.
I modified my struts to be functional/load bearing and added the midspan strut support out of respect for scale.
Haven't had it up much, but it does fly nice. It needs to have a bit of throttle up until over the runway and ready to flair though. It does not have any nasty stall characteristics as is common with other Decathlon kits.
Enjoy!

Just to motivate. Here is picture mine. I could write you a book about this thing. In short, keep it as light as possible and true as possible.
On the lightness issue, I had a US41 and while having great power, the wing loading was just too high for me. Another person may not even notice it but I did. I have since sold the US41 and will try either a Moki 1.8 or OS 1.6 in the future.

My decathlon had a G-38 and it flew it great. I had also installed a TME smoke system that worked flawless and looked great but yes it was a lil on the heavy side all loaded up. I cant remember the final weight. My first engine on it was a saito 150 but I liked the G-38 more. I wish I still had this plane, it really was a joy to fly, but I sold it.
Take care,
