Default 4*40 servo tray mounting issue

For all of the great work with the 4*40, there is very little information regarding the servo tray. I think they shoul give it a little more than they did, and at least the wood for to make a mounting rail.

About how far forward or back do ya'all have it? I guess the height would be determined by the servo height. I will have a Saito .56 up front.

Thanks!

Elwood,
Look at the side view of the fuselage on the plans........gives you a good idea. Make them longer than the opening you cut for the servo so the front hardwood strip can be glued to the main spar and the sheeting and the back strip will be glued up against the sheeting. I'll measure the size of the hard wood strips and let you know.........they worked perfect on my first one. I'm on my second 4 Star 40 right now. The first one was great...........This one is a breeze. I'll have a Saito 56 on mine to. JT

I meant to say look at the side view of the W1 rib on theplans........the one that shows the servo in it. I used 3/8 x 1/4 hardwood for the servo rails. Your right though, Sig could of been more clear on the radio installation.. Which would help out a beginner. But thats the only gripe I have with the kit. The rest of it is top notch in my opinion. I would suggest positioning your pilot before locating sevos, it can make a difference in CG

The kit is great, no doubt. Nut they left too much out when the omitted the radio install portion. It is not too hard to do on your own, but it would have been nice!
