Default Help in Building- Cleaning

Hi I have built a few planes and by time I finish, it already looks old because i keep dripping glue or epoxy on the finished wings, fuselage etc.

What can i use to clean the glue when i spill it. Is there and epoxy thinner, or ca or something to keep the plane clean. Or should i just find a coating to keep on it.

please send reply to

Acetone will remove CA.

Alcohol will remove epoxy WHILE IT IS STILL FRESH (wet). Once epoxy dries it is a different story. On a film covering it MAY pop off (about a 50/50 chance ).

What I do is have a building area AND a covering area. Once a part is covered it is moved to an out of the way location until I am ready to do a final assembly of the plane.

Acetone will also loosen the covering seams. The best way to remove glue from a finished frame is to not get it on there to start with. Work more carefully, slowly, and neatly. Wipe any spills IMMEDIATELY.

CA remover (uncure) worked great for a big CA spill on Ultracote. It had been there for a couple of months before I used it. Came off instantly.

Yep. The prime ingredient in both is acetone. You can pay about $5.00 for a quart of acetone or about $5 - $7 for a 2 oz bottle of uncure or debonder.

As DR1 stated, be careful around the seams of the covering and decals.

I didn't try pure acetone but I did use something with acetone in it. No results. The debonder worked fast. I've had the bottle for a couple of years with plenty left.
