Inverted 4 stroke on a Four Star?

I'm building a Midwest Starduster (almost the same as a Four Star) and I'm installing an ASP .65 four stroke. Anyone inverted their 4 stroke on a Four Star?
Since the thrust line is rather high on the fuse, I though I'd invert the engine and cap off the top of the engine bay to clean it up a little and make it a little different to boot.
If someones done this I'd like to see a picture. Also were you able to get the tank low enough to not use a regulator?

I have a saito 40 inverted on a 4* 40 and am very pleased with the way it runs. I did cut the formers down and put tank at bottom of fus. I am doing a 4* 60 with a saito 100 inverted and plan to make a cowel simmilar to a curtis P40 Warhawk on this one. I do not have a way to send any photos, sorry.

I think I would be concerned with the head being scuffed during a nose over during landing, take off, or ground handling. Other than that go for it. It will look neat and 4 strokes sound so good.

I started with a new Magnum 52 4 stroke on my 4*. Built a custom cowl, but could never get a good idle. It may have been my inability to tune combined with a fresh engine. I sold that and installed a ST51 sideways, ran great. Mounted the ST51 inverted, ran great, idled for minutes with instant transition. Tired of the ST muffler drama and installed an inverted TT46. Couldn't get a reliable idle, mounted it sideways with a pitts muffler. Ran much better untill it ate the carb barrel spring. Tried a fresh Saito 45 inverted, but couldn't get a reliable idle. Mounted the Saito sideways and now have a few hours on it and it is getting real sweet. I may invert it at some time again just to experiment.
I had a Saito 65 inverted on a short lived Venus. It was the only engine I could get to run inverted with the tank mounted up high. Tried a TT46 and Webra61 as well.
I read on here about so many people who never have problems running inverted. I don't seem to have the Midas touch, but I haven't given up yet.
Good luck, MikeB

I amabout to install a satio 150 inverted on my spacewalker ..I worry about fuel in the head sitting but I am told just install a remote ignitor and problem is solved.or you can do noting and you can even install a pump$$$..someone even suggested just offsetting the invertyed engine 5 or 10 degrees.I suspect I am worrying over nothing but all these years I have avoided inverted engines but am plunging into it now.

Congrats on picking the four star as your next "kit bash". A number of folks have done mods very similar to what you're planning. Take a look at what Mr70ss did with his Four Star.

Mr70ss was also kind enough to email me copies of his build process pictures.
Good luck with your kit and don't forget to snap some picts during the build. I know I can't wait to get started on mine - it should arrive at my LHS this weekend!

We are running an inverted OS 120 SIII pump in a RCM Krier Kraft, we started initially using 5% Nitro 18%synthetic oil, it ran but not great idle, added onboard glow which helped, then went to 10% nitro and it idles great and picks up fine throttles well and has unlimited vertical, does great snaps etc.
