the rudder servo is better out the side of the fuse not the bottom imo, the stock setup works fine for elevator.

I installed my rudder servo on the side of the fuse instead of on the bottom. It keeps the oil from the exhause off the servo (most of it, that is).

further digging reports the cap as tail heavy. im tending toward both servos forward and a pull-pull for all the tail surfaces

I built mine as per the instructions. Originally put a O.S. .70 fs out front and had no tail heavy problems, put the battery at the CG. Now have a O.S. .91 fs on her and have moved the battery way back behind the wing mounting block. As far as the rudder servo, i could see a problem if you had a 2-stroke in it with the exhaust facing down, but a properly tuned 4-stroke shouldn't cover your model in oil, IMO.

This seems to be a popular plane. I am almost finished with mine. I am going to use the OS91 also. The only real changes to the plane for me will be that I am going to use 2 aileron and 2 elevator servos. I'm mounting the elevator servos toward the tail and am going to program ailevators and flaperons with this setup. Hope it works out.

i too have two servos for the ailerons placed in the original single position, are you putting them in the wing?

i only have a OS46FX for a powerplant, i suspect weight issues aft.

Andy,

I am going to put both aileron servos in the origional position like you and the elevator and rudder servos in the back of the plane. I'm hoping this offsets the extra weight by the OS91. Should be close.

I put in the elevator and ruder servos in the original positions. I only had to put 3ozs of lead in the nose with a YS 63s four stroker. With a os 91 it should be just right. I did end up putting two servos in the wing. Heres my build thread if anyone wants to check it out...
