Hello Im working on a fly baby.I would like to center the hinges for the ailerons on the leading edge and the trailing edge of the wing. The plan shows it more to the top so you get more up travel than down.Would it not be easyer to center the hing and use the diferintal on my radio? Also do you think a os surpass 91 will have enough power or would a os 120 be better? thanks

If you center your hinges on a bevel of 45 degress you should have plenty of throw. What weight do u think u will have once the project is finished? The 91 vs the 120 is a bit of weight difference so see if you are looking to add nose weight with lead if you run the 91 vs 120 and things of that nature (prop clearance).

I am currently flying a 1/4 scale Dynaflite Fly Baby. I have a Saito 120 mounted and it provides plenty of power for this model. After I am airborne, I reduce the throttle to about 1/2 and the bird flys very scale like. I have seen this plane fly with a 91 and it appeared to be a bit "mushy" to me. Better too much than not enough. You can always throttle back and if you need it, you got it. I did hinge mine at the top of the leading edge and aileron and they work just fine. They are very much like the "barn door" style used on the Cubs. Bottom line is that the bird is a pleasure to fly. Your gonna like it a lot.......

now i think ill measure 3/16 from the top surface, install hinges then sand the l.e.of aileron shape to look like the drawing.this will not leave much l.e. on the aileron.where did you come up with the hinge line on your plane Omawho.thanks all.
